President’s Message – February 2023

by | Feb 1, 2023 | Uncategorized

January was a busy month for our Branch with many opportunities for our AAUW family to gather together: Leadership meeting, fabulous general meeting with Washington State Poet Laureate Rena Priest, book group (at my home), viewing of the movie A Man Called Otto, our first JAVA Break, …and to round out the month, AAUW Lobby Day. I hope those that were able to attend these gatherings enjoyed them as much as I did.

Of course all this doesn’t happen by itself. The 2022/2023 leadership team has been working hard and because of this our branch is strong, viable and running smoothly. We are over half way through this fiscal year but we have more wonderful programs on the horizon plus some favorites: STEM Recognition, Tech Trek, and College scholarships.

To continue this momentum to the end of the year and into 2024, we need help from each and everyone of you. We currently have a need for a Nominating Committee Chair and two PWP 2024 Co-Chairs. There will also be a few positions open on the 2023/2024 Board.

In the next few months, the nominating committee will be reaching out, either at a meeting or by phone. Please take some time to consider where you can help out. No contribution is too small, and many hands make light work!
