Dementia is overwhelming, not only for those who suffer from it, but also for their families and caregivers. Join us on January 11 at 1:00 p.m. at the Camano Island Library for this interesting program. Social Half Hour begins at 12:30 p.m.; come early to meet the speakers.
Ginny Berube and Naomi Wark will present “Dementia – Education Experience and Resources”. Ginny is an Aging Disability Resource Specialist and Family Caregiver Specialist for Island Senior Resources at the Camano Center with over 20 years of experience supporting families. Naomi is a Camano Island resident and member of our branch who was caregiver for five years to an older relative with a mind deteriorating through the phases of dementia. Naomi recently released a novel, Wildflowers in Winter: Aging with Alzheimer’s, based on her family’s personal experiences, joys and frustrations.
After the presentation, there will be time for questions. Materials on dementia, aging, and information about where to get help will be available.
The scholarship application process for our branch opens on Monday, February 5 for 2018. For…31 December 2017
